Reciprocal Formations\u201d at the\nMax-Weber-Kolleg of the University of Erfurt invites applications for <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Scholarships for\nDoctoral Researchers <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>starting from January 2021 at the earliest.\nScholarships are granted for a period of 12 months to either<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>spend a year at the\nCentre in the framework of a Cotutelle agreement of your non-German university\nwith the Max-Weber-Kolleg&nbsp; (that needs to\nbe established on successful application) or<\/li><li>start a doctoral\ndegree at the Max-Weber-Kolleg that should include a\nyear spend abroad in a Cotutelle agreement with a foreign university (based on\nexisting contacts of the applicant or supported by the KFG).<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The scholarships are awarded to doctoral researchers\nworking in the Humanities, especially in the fields of History or of History of\nReligion (or in the fields of Sociology and Urban Studies with a focus on\nhistorical and religious developments) on a topic related to the KFG. The KFG\nis financed by the German Research Foundation (FOR 2779) and directed by Prof.\nDr. Susanne Rau and Prof. Dr. J\u00f6rg R\u00fcpke.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Further information about the Max-Weber-Kolleg and the KFG are available at: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uni-erfurt.de\/max-weber-kolleg and www.uni-erfurt.de\/go\/urbrel \">https:\/\/www.uni-erfurt.de\/max-weber-kolleg and www.uni-erfurt.de\/go\/urbrel <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"text-align:left\"><strong>Conditions<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Scholarship holders will be provided with office space\nincluding work facilities. Working languages are English and German (the\nproficiency in one of them attested on level C1 by the time of application).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The earliest possible date for the start of the\nscholarships is 1st January 2021. The scholarships are endowed with 1,400 EUR\n(and family allowances if applicable) per month. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Max-Weber-Kolleg offers a structured study\nprogramme and is going to provide you with library access, access to licensed\nelectronic media at the University Library and interlibrary loan. Photocopying\nand scanning will be offered free of charge. As a member of the KFG you can ask\nfor financial support for research trips related to your project. In addition,\nwe can also offer you the opportunity to participate in training courses for\nyoung scientists, which are open to members or associates of the university.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Eligibility<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To\nbe eligible for a doctoral scholarship, the candidate must propose a research\nproject for a PhD thesis to be conducted within the framework of the KFG. In\nthe case of (a) you must already be admitted to a doctoral programme at a\nuniversity abroad that is willing to enter a Cotutelle agreement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Doctoral researchers are required to participate\nactively in the interdisciplinary and intercultural life of the Centre and the\nMax-Weber-Kolleg and to contribute to the weekly colloquia of the KFG.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Application\/Deadline<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please submit your application with<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>an outline of the dissertation project you\nwould like to pursue addressing the KFG\u00b4s research focus (3,000-4,000 words)\nwith a stringent discussion of your a) research questions, b) the state of\nresearch on the topic, c) the methodological approach and the leading\nhypotheses as well as d) a working schedule with a projected date of completion\nand publications of results. <\/li><li>a statement of how you imagine to profit\nfrom and contribute to the interdisciplinary environment of the KFG and the\nMax-Weber-Kolleg<\/li><li>a curriculum vitae<\/li><li>copies of your last university degrees<\/li><li>a letter of recommendation by a university\nlecturer<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>as a combined pdf-file (maximum of 5 MB, publications may be presented\nin separate files) until 30 September 2020 to mwk.bewerbungen@uni-erfurt.de.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Informal enquiries may be made to Dr. Elisa Iori (elisa.iori@uni-erfurt.de).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The University of Erfurt is an equal opportunity employer and certified\nas family friendly.
