{"id":520,"date":"2021-01-18T09:22:29","date_gmt":"2021-01-18T08:22:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/projekte.uni-erfurt.de\/maxweberkolleg\/?p=520"},"modified":"2021-02-04T08:30:03","modified_gmt":"2021-02-04T07:30:03","slug":"new-junior-research-college-eipcc-is-launched","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/projekte.uni-erfurt.de\/maxweberkolleg\/2021\/01\/18\/new-junior-research-college-eipcc-is-launched\/","title":{"rendered":"New junior research college &#8218;EIPCC&#8216; is launched"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>&#8218;Effective and Innovative Policymaking in Contested Contexts&#8216; (EIPCC) is  the title of a new junior research group that the Willy Brandt School  of Public Policy at the University of Erfurt has launched together with  colleagues from the Faculty of Economics, Law and Social Sciences and  the Max Weber College as part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uni-erfurt.de\/en\/forschung\/wissenschaftliche-karriere\/graduate-centres\/the-christoph-martin-wieland-graduate-forum\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Christoph Martin Wieland Graduate  Forum <\/a>at the University of Erfurt.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The key theme of EIPCC is the \ninvestigation into effective and innovative forms of policymaking \nparticularly in contested contexts. It covers research on the four \ndimensions of: Public Policymaking; Socio-economic Development and \nEffective Policymaking; Socially Innovative Policymaking, and \nPolicymaking in Conflicted and Contested Orders. Contestations may arise\n due to the globalization of economic and social relationships and its \nconsequences for the economic, social and even physical wellbeing of \nsocieties; the significant structural and political challenges in the \ncourse of ageing societies or international migration; new political \nforms of contestation such as populist or even extremist parties; and \nunresolved, violent conflicts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Andreas Goldthau,  holder of the Franz Haniel Professorship for Public Policy at the University of Erfurt and one of the initiators, explains: &#8222;The Young  Researchers&#8216; College sees itself as a platform that brings together  international young researchers with a focus on (or from) the Global  South.
